BOYCOTT THE MELBOURNE CUP & IS E I IN VIC?

Hit them in the hip pocket nerve where it counts. Boycott the Melbourne
Cup. Don't have your annual flutter on the "big" race, if every Horse Deals
reader saves their few bucks or more that would certainly put a big hole in
the betting revene. No doubt there are plenty of horse people who won't even
be able to afford it this year anyway.
I have heard the following rumour so many times I am finally beginning to
believe that it is true. And the rumour is that E I is in Victoria and they
are keeping it quiet so they can run their precious race. There's no doubt
there has been a lot of testing done in Vic, that is for sure.

Yes Victoria, THE RUMOUR does keep rearing its ugly head. I keep saying it will be interesting as to how and when they announce it!

Unfortunately for most of us we have been hit very hard by the EI.
Especially in NSW and QLD.
But why take away the spirit of the Melbourne cup by boycotting all bets. For us racing people (I am also a dressage rider) we have been down in the dumps since August 24th. I personally cant wait until tomorrow so we can all got to our local pubs and clubs and and have a great day. Sorry if you have no personel interest in racing but why completely destroy the Melbourne cup when it has never been cancelled in its running history only postponed twice due to bad weather.
I also think people should have there facts correct before they blemish Victorias reputation for having really cracked down on quarrantine regulations to assure the Ei did not enter their state.
The problem originated here in NSW.
Why take it out on Melbourne.
get over it like we all have too.....

I HATE TO INFORM YOU BUT MOST HORSE DEALS READERS AND BUYERS ARE HORSEY PEOPLE AND WOULD NOT BE TAKING THEIR ANGER OUT ON THE MELBOURNIANS, AS THEY ARE AWARE WHERE THE PROBLEM STARTED. EASTERN CREEK RING ANY BELLS.
LIKE IT OR LUMP IT I SAY....

I with you, I will not be placing any bets this year.
There are many clubs in SA and Vic (to whom have cancelled their shows till the end of the year), but due to money the Spring Carnival is still going ahead.
I think thats wrong. Why should the recreational people cancel their events its all one sided if you ask me.
On that note you wont get my money on 6th November.

I waiting to for the word to say its spread into Vic, lets place our bets there instead!!!!!

Don't boycott the Cup as it is as Australian as the 'fair go' philosophy. But please use it as a time to reflect on all the people currently affected by EI who are hurting.I have encouraged all my friends to donate the money they would spend on the race towards their local not for profit horse group eg Riding for Disabled, poney club,Clydesdale Rescue to help these peolpe continue to care for their horses and one day (hopefully soon) to go back to providing all the joy that riding and driving a horse can give.I just watched the news, where a woman was going to spend $2000 on a hat for Melbourne Cup and all I can think of is what a waste...I wish that she would donate the money to something more worthwhile than personal vanity...Maybe it's a sign of the times.I hope not!
