Federal Minister McGauran is responsible for ALL vaccine allocations.

To all those complaining about where vaccines go and who gets special treatment.

Lobby the actual person with the power over who gets vaccine and who doesn't . Federal Minister McGauran.

Likewise the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT has cut costs and run down quarantine protection in ALL agricultural industries.

The State DPIs are the cleaners that come in after the FEDERAL GOVERNMENTS party.

Do your research
The buck stops with him and his government – full stop.

So true!!! Pity everybody does not realize that fact. The State DPI's have just been made scape goats and unfortunately it seems the majority of horse owners are very ignorant as to what is going on and WHO really is to blame. Minister McGauran is probably quite happy that all the mis-guided pleasure horse people are running around, abusing and blaming their state DPI's, it means he gets away with what ever he likes!

Actually, He does care deeply - about helping out his mates in the racing industry. He has a personal vested interest in that industry. You only have to look into his past and see who hangs out with to see why he cared deeply enough to override the Ausvet plan and hijack vaccines to give his racing mates.

Actually you are all spot on.I have read the 33 page EI enquiry boundaries and the federal government will I hope be made to explain how the virus escaped quarantine....although it also takes great pains to state that the purpose of the enquiry will not be to allot blame(probably worried about civil actions). However the enquiry will not look beyond Maitland.I want an investigation into the DPI's response to the initial EI cases. It was reported in the Courier Mail that the DPI at Warwick "though good on the ground" could not make the decision to close the gates and stop the movement of infected horses. It was reported that in the end it was one of the organisers who took action....I would like to know the full truth. If it has been reported accurately, then the DPI most certainly has a case to answer and cannot claim that they have had no part in the spread of the disease in Queensland as it was their inaction and inability to make decisions which allowed for the spread of the disease in the first place from Warwick to the rest of South East Queensland
