Horse taken from Sydney to Orange last week had a PERMIT!!

Yes, you read it right...Last week a horse owner from purple zone (Sydney) was issued a PERMIT to take his horse to an amber zone. I for one could not believe it. What is the DPI playing at? How dare they put our horses at such risk. We, who have worked so hard to protect our horses and stay clean, in the hope of becoming green very soon.

To make matters worse, they did their best to cover it up. We at Orange NSW ..now have a purple zone horse in our amber zone , but , this was not forthcoming from the DPI. Every time we phoned the call centre at Orange we were giver a whole lot of B.S. but they would not admit that the horse was here. It was not until the stud owner went public that it was confirmed. The DPI said a full investigation would be held. YER RIGHT.

Don`t trust them...

Carol, if you have the proof of this permit PLEASE contact WIN News in Orange. Their office is right next door to the DPI's building. They will run with this story to the hilt.
We need all the evidence that the DPI are giving special preference to the racing industry & it needs to be broadcast for ALL to see.
All we want is equal treatment, if their horses can get a permit to go out for a bloody spell, then why the hell can't I get a permit to bring my horse to his rightful home, & in the process, save us $77 a week in agistment costs. They need to explain why the hell people at West Wyalong cant get a permit to move their horses 40kms up the road to feed, thus preventing these horses having to be destroyed as there is no feed where they are now. Oh yeah, they were promised the moon, but nothings become of it....all false hope. I feel a rally staged outside the DPI's Orange headquarters coming on. The federal & state ministers, the CVO's, the head honchos of the DPI will all be invited to attend. Maybe then they'll start to take our industry (pleasure & performance) seriously.
If anyones interested in this, let me know through here & I'll organise it...time to make a stand.

Does anyone know what happened with this story?
I too have a horse stuck near Port Macquarie costing me $80 a week in agistment when he could be home with me in Hay costing me nothing.
