Pony Club activities are set to get underway in the Green and Purple Zones in the New Year.

The DPI have approved Pony Club NSW plans to allow the commencement of activities from 1 January 2008. Initially events will be limited to rally days only until 1 March 2008.

Event organisers and participants must ensure they are fully aware of their responsibilities to ensure the safe conduct of events - refer to the attached plan in pdf format. The forecast maps available from the DPI suggest how Amber and Red Zones are being rolled back.

These indicate that all clubs should be located in either the Green or Purple Zone early next year, assuming the EI eradication program does not come across any stumbling blocks. Pony Club NSW applauds the efforts shown by its members and clubs in this difficult time.

It has been wonderful to hear reports from clubs of activities conducted without horses such as cave tours, picnics, working bees, proficiency certificate training and a 'Melbourne Cup Dash'.

Please contact the State Office if you have any queries regarding the commencement of activities in 2008.
