NO MOVEMENT AT MORGAN PARK

After going into lock down at Morgan Park on 25/08/07 every one was looking forward to a conclusion of their confinement only to have this dashed this morning when told that they will NOT be allowed to leave on October 2nd as indicated.

Blood tests where taken last week and all 250 odd horses, tests came back showing that all horses now had antibodies present. Morgan town residents were told on Friday 21/09/07 that they were on the home stretch and the end was in sight.

Today the DPI and Bio-security people have refused to accept the results of the blood tests and the Oct 2nd date for a possible departure has been stopped.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?, we can not get straight answers from anyone.

Horses are now getting injured along with there handlers at Morgan Park, only 2 nights ago 15 horses had colic in the one night. These performance horses are full of feed and no meaningful exercise, is it going to take a horse to get seriously injured and have to put down, who will bear the cost of losing a valued animal if this happens? Surely if things continue the way they are animal welfare must become a issue and the RSPCA brought in.
What is happening is not a result of anything that the organisers of the Warwick Horse Trail Club have done , a lot of these club members have had their lives turned upside down as well.

It is time for Ian Douglas and Ron Glanvile from the DPI and Bio-security to start answering some questions honestly .
I bet if they where race horses they would be bending over backwards to provide a end to the situation.

Come on every one the time has come to get cranky and start to bombard those responsible Politicians, DPI & F and Bio security with e-mails and phones calls demanding ANSWERS.

please please please

this blog should be there to be utilised by responsible people wanting information and sharing information

do not corrupt it with ficticious claims and rumours regarding release dates or not from morgan park and the like

corruption of this nature is destructive and serves no purpose other than vandalism and to alarm less informed people

it is not an opportunity to gain your "5 minutes" of fame or draw attention to others that you wish to defame or disrupt

we all know how it was spread from warwick by selfish humans that put their indivual needs above those of the community at large - irrespective of the warnings from dpi on the gate

if you have information to share do so with an open heart and conscience or it is likely to lose creditibility for those that are in genuine need

respect yourself in this crisis time and others and genuinely show the animal in the middle of all this the care and concern it deserves - leave the politics and personal agendas at the door

to fed up from Tamborine
Unlike some people from Tamborine who left Morgan Park and transported the horse flu to Tamborine we stayed in a effort to try and containe the outbreak of EI.
The information posted is the truth
and I can assure you this will come out in the next couple of days.
None of us are being give the truth or accurate information by the DPI as most of these people dont know themselves.
We have a further 4 horses at home and certainly dont want EI at our place.

Yes they where allowed to leave Morgan Park and this was only beacuse the DPI could not make a decision about stoping people and vehicles from leaving. We all had the option to leave if we wanted to but having gone and spoken to the vets on site once we were alerted to the seriousness of EI we chose to stay like a lot of other people have. Iam sure that those at Morgan Park would rather be at home than having to live in trucks/floats for more than a few days and not to forget those who have had to put the their lives on hold indefinately.
Like you we want to see a end to this whole situation and those who allowed the EI out of qurantine held accountable.
