They're Out!

“They are all very excited up here,” declared our Warwick correspondent (and Heath Ryan’s groom), Alishya Hill. “Warwick Event Organiser, Simon Goddard told us this morning that the horses will start leaving tomorrow. It will take a week to get all 250 horses out, as it is a big process with all the decontamination procedures required. Every horse will have a permit from the DPI to go straight from Warwick to home and they will need a special permit if home is in the Green Zone.

“It was a case of ‘first in, best dressed’ and already the first three days’ allocation has been made. I will leave next Monday or Tuesday, which will make it six weeks that I have been here. Heath’s horses have not been showing any symptoms for the last three weeks”.

Heath and Rozzie’s faith in Alishya’s ability to cope with the pressures of the lock down were not misplaced. “Alishya will get on with everybody and be involved in everything,” commented Rozzie. That ability proved very useful at Warwick, as not only was it necessary to be a good groom (by no means an easy job in these or any other circumstances), it was also necessary to be a diplomat. And what did Alishya think of the whole experience? “Good but different. But I am really looking forward to seeing my horse back at Lochinvar”.

Horse Deals will have one more report from Alishya to hear about the much-anticipated exodus.
