Spoilt sports indeed

are you kidding?? We have EI now because racehorses were swept thru Quarantine before mandatory time & Govt was lax with the whole situation. The govt got the racehorses vaccinated because money was being lost at TAB & Th/bred owners whinging how precious their th/breds are..They hardly had to dip into their pocket at all.

I still have sick horses a month after intially contracting EI ,they have become sicker the second time round, hundreds of $$$ later which i wont be compensated for or Rego on float or any memberships i have payed this year.I dont have a registered business or staff to wipe the green mucus & blood coming from their noses my devastated kids are helping me.These horses share our lives with decades of thoughtful breeding not depending how much money they make me.

But Race horses are off & racing while we will continue to be locked down until 2008/09 as there are still infected places popping up everywhere. What a joke containment & eradicating you are deluded as the people running the show !!!

Boycott YOU BET !!

no compo for us, my work mate doesn't understand even thou i only compete at up to 10 events through the yr how i'm affected, i'm not allowed out to ride on the road, we've got a brand new float sitting there doing nothing, it cost me selling my horse, which i may believe may have gone back at the start of all this.
i'm not taking a punt today like i would any other yr, not even seen the race form.
lets hope we can start moving by chrissy.
some t/b owners, don't really give a rats about the horse, or where they go after wards. many of whom are in the show ring.

great words, i'm not backing anyone today. some people don't understand what is happening out here, and that most in the horse industry, are crying out for help. this was the last thing many of us needed, with the drought getting worse in places. no feed and things going down hill fast.
the cup carnival just seems to be a fashion parade, take away the horses and see what number are like with a different sort of entertainment.

Hello
We train race horses in regional NSW and we HAVE BEEN IN LOCK DOWN
since august 24 also.
On the saturday of the lockdown we had 2 horses booked on a float to go to the paddock for a spell.
They are still in there boxes and have only a small yard they retreat to in the day.
As for the other 16 of them well we have had to keep them in work so they dont go stir crazy.
We only have 10 small yards that we put them in during the day then
back to there boxes again.
By the time we are allowed to move most of these horses will be ready to spell in the paddocks again.
Also alot of them had paddocks at there owners propertys we could have sent them back to.
BUT NO SPECIAL TREATMENT WAS GIVEN TO THEM AS RACE HORSES AND WE HAVN'T EVEN GOT EI........
