Tonimbuk Equestrian Centre leads the way back from EI.
Whilst Victoria remains EI free, there is no reason why equestrian events cannot resume in Victoria however, event after event is being cancelled. This thankfully is not the case at the Tonimbuk Equestrian Centre just 1 ¼ hrs drive from Melbourne, where a full programme of competition has been organised.
Equestrian Centre proprietor, Ian Mouser, feels everyone must stay vigilante and be careful about bio-security, but there is no reason why competitions in Victoria can not continue. Ian has done everything in his power to get horse riding of all levels on the move again. Ian commented,” we are seeing people at the recent competitions that we have never seem here before, we have tried to cater for all levels of riding and everyone is starting to responds, especially at the lower levels. The entries for our Ho Ho Charity Christmas showjumping event from December 21st to the 23rd look really good and all the stables have been booked out for the last two weeks for that show.
“In January the Victorian Southern Circuit Western Shows, incorporating the Victorian State Quarter Horse Championships will be here from the 4th to the 13th of January, followed the resumption of Adult Riding Club and more Showjumping. At this stage February looks a little quiet,s then things get really busy in March with the Paralympic Selection Trials, Tonimbuk Horse Trials, Arabian Diamond Showcase, Morgan Horse Association of Australia Show, FEI Endurance Ride and the list goes on”.
