EFA Horse Trials - 27th/28th October 2007
Following the cancellation of Candlebark and the postponement of Tooradin there is a large gap in the Horse Trials calendar until Wandin in November and Lakes and Craters in December.
Victoria remains EI free and many members have expressed the desire to start competing again. The EFA Vic branch will therefore run a competition at WPNEC on October 27/28th 2007. Classes will be offered from intro – Pre Novice. There will also be Training 2 – 4 classes to cater for those PC members disappointed to have missed their competition at Werribee in September.
There is currently no CNC* class scheduled due to the difficulties of making minimum X/C distance within the grounds of WPNEC. However if there is sufficient interest in a CNC* class it can be run. Please call Elaine if you are in interested (03) 9974 0544.
WPNEC has been badly affected by the EI crisis - any monies raised by this event will go towards supporting WPNEC
All riders need to be aware of their responsibilities in relation to the EI situation. Please read carefully the information from the DPI ‘for participants at horse competitions’ contained in the attached schedule. A ‘horse event participation form’ must also be filled out by every competitor before your entry will be accepted. (These forms will be the same for any competition or clinic you attend for the immediate future).

Are you out of your minds, the reason why you are EI free is because of the standstill, you need to put the needs of your horses first, put the thought of competitions behind you, I really can`t understand the minds of some people. People like you will not remain free of EI once you start competing and moving around, IT ONLY TAKES ONE YES JUST ONE. We are all disapointed at the fact that we can`t compete. If you go ahead, your fools. And therefore deserve to be infected and see first hand the hardships that the rest of the infected country are going through GOOD LUCK I SAY.
I have to Agree The EFA are a disgrace for pushing to Run. I'm Ashamed to have such a group of Negligent selfish people representing us when all they care about is making money for their assiciation. LOOK AROUND EVERYONE IS LOOSING MONEY YOU GUYS ARE JUST PLAIN SELFISH!!!

Please remember that in many cases it takes at least 6 days before sign and symptoms show themselves! Believe me the nonsense about horses being sick for only about 10 days is a joke. My horses have been sick for at least 3 weeks now and they have only mild cases. It just does not make sense to subject healthy horses to the possiblilty of being exposed to EI. No one is able to explain what has happened in Forbes and why EI has showed up there. It is not worth taking a chance!
